About Michael Lepak, LCSW

white background

I find it deeply rewarding to help individuals and couples create meaningful change and achieve their goals in therapy. With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am passionate about guiding people toward new perspectives that bring relief, resilience, and lasting growth. My work is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to helping clients reconnect with themselves and others.

Clinical Training & Approach Through a broad range of advanced clinical training and certifications, I provide a rich toolkit for supporting clients through a variety of challenges. I have extensive training in trauma-informed modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). I also completed a three-year post-graduate program in Individual Psychotherapy at the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ), and a year-long certificate in Contemplative Psychotherapy at the Nalanda Institute in New York City.

Work with Couples In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in working with couples who are in distress or feeling disconnected. I completed a two-year training in couples therapy at CPPNJ and have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a well-researched, highly effective approach for strengthening relationships. I’ve also served as a training assistant in EFT programs, mentoring other therapists in this model. My background further includes a year-long training in family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.

Teaching & Supervision I’ve taught graduate-level clinical skills as an adjunct professor at Fordham University. I am also a New Jersey certified clinical supervisor, offering supervision and mentorship to therapists in psychotherapy theory and technique.
